Privacy Policy of Geopass App

UCLA operates the Geopass mobile and web applications (the “Service”). This page is intended to inform users about our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information for those who choose to use GeoPass.

By using the GeoPass app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. The personal information we collect is used solely to provide and improve the Service. We do not use or share your information with third parties except as described in this Privacy Policy.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions unless otherwise defined.

Information Collection and Use

To provide the core features of the GeoPass Service, we may ask you to provide certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to your name, email address, and location data. This information is used to create your account, verify appointment attendance, and enable secure access to features such as surveys and rewards.

Log Data

Whenever you use GeoPass, we may collect log data sent by your device. This may include your device’s IP address, browser version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your use, and other statistics. This information is used for diagnostic and analytic purposes only.

Data We Process

We store your email address and appointment activity in a secure database hosted through AWS. This information is used to associate your account with scheduled activities and participation history.

No personal data is stored outside of our secure infrastructure.

Data Deletion

If you would like to delete your GeoPass account and all associated data, please contact our program administrator directly:

Once your request is received, your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted from our systems.

Service Providers

We may work with third-party service providers to support GeoPass operations, such as:

  • Hosting and infrastructure (e.g., AWS)

  • Support services

These providers are contractually bound to protect your information and may only use it to perform tasks on our behalf.

Security

We take data security seriously and use commercially reasonable methods to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

GeoPass may include links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.

Children’s Privacy

GeoPass is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it immediately. Parents or guardians who become aware that their child has used the Service should contact us.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the updated policy will take effect immediately upon posting.
